Message So for a while I have suspected I was in safety boost, the car felt a little slower and the boost guage (I only have the stock one) seemed a little low, around 8. I know its not the best guage but it consistently went to that boost level. I fixed a boost leak but it made no difference.

Well yesterday I installed my Ash ECU and boost jets and my boost remained exactly the same. So definitely in safety boost. I checked for codes, none before and none now. I cleaned the coolant temp sensor but still no improvement. Timing is set at 15 like its suposed to be. So I tried the wastegate solenoid bypass outlined in the FAQ (although the author must be a little color blind) and my boost is back. Which is nice but I'd like to know what the possible side effects of this bypass are. And also any ideas of what could be causing the car to want to be in safely boost. Thanks. I pasted the FAQ below because this computer is not allowing me to copy and paste a url for some reason.

How do I keep from constantly going into safety boost?

If the ECU is dropping into safety boost all the time with no obvious reason, this is a possible JWT approved fix method. Find the connector coming off the passenger wastegate solenoid. It's the black plug with two wires, a black and white wire on one side and black and green on the other. Get a short bit of extra wire & solder a paperclip to the end of it, cram it in the backside of the plug into the green wire's pin. Electrical tape this together. Ground the other end of the wire, essentially grounding the green wire. The bracket on the side of the plenum has a convenient spot for it.
